I love that Stevie sings this line... as I feel that it moves the meaning deeper from a love between a man and a woman to a friendship that has nothing to do with sex/love... but a deep bond between two friends... two friends whose steps fall so differently... two friends who find love apart from each other yet they vow to remain close... even though they have separate lives. Two friends who will still travel side by side and help each other along the way.
